New Patrons for Foundation - 17 May 2012
The Stroke Foundation is delighted to announce that Their Excellencies Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, Governor-General of New Zealand, and Lady Janine Mateparae have agreed to become joint Patrons.
Sir Jerry is New Zealand’s 20th Governor-General and was knighted in June 2011 after a near-40 year military career. He enlisted as a soldier in the New Zealand Army in 1972 and rose through the ranks until he was appointed Chief of the New Zealand Defence Force in 2006, the first New Zealander of Māori descent to hold the office.
The Foundation is very much looking forward to working with its new Patrons.
