Help us help people affected by stroke by supporting one of our fundraising events or organise your own.
We work to prevent stroke, improve outcomes, and save lives.
Stroke is New Zealand's second single biggest killer and the leading cause of serious adult disability. Over 11,000 strokes are experienced each year - that’s one every 45 minutes - and research shows us that within the next decade this is projected to rise by 40%.
89% of funds needed to operate the Stroke Foundation come from fundraising, so it’s a direct result of your support that we're able to make an incredible difference to the lives of those affected by stroke, as well as the health and well-being of all New Zealanders.
By fundraising for the Stroke Foundation, you're supporting our vital Community Stroke Advisor service which helps over 5,500 stroke survivors, and their family / whānau, each year. You’re also supporting our life-saving health promotion activity, including our Big Blood Pressure Check which offers tens of thousands of New Zealanders free blood pressure checks every year.
