Catherine Epps
Chair
Catherine is a Speech-language Therapist by training who specialised in rehabilitation, including working with the people and their families who had experienced a stroke. Getting to know people living with a brain injury made an enduring impression on Catherine, who since then has continued to seek ways to make an impact for people finding their way with long term health conditions. Catherine has been on the Stroke Aotearoa Board for several years, including as Deputy Chair prior to the current Board Chair role. She also has had experience on the Board of Mary Potter Hospice, Wellington.
In terms of a day job, Catherine is the Director, Medical Devices at Pharnac. She has held numerous senior and executive leadership roles across the public sector, including as the Executive Director Allied Health, at what was Capital and Coast District Health Board. Catherine migrated from the UK in 2006, and loves pastimes that allow her to enjoy the best of New Zealand; tramping, sailing, and hanging out with her whānau.
