Hera Williams

Hera Williams joined Stroke Aotearoa in 2026, bringing over 30 years of experience in the education sector. Her career includes delivering degree-level papers on Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holding a national role focused on partnerships with Iwi, hapū, and Māori communities across Aotearoa. She holds a Bachelor of Education from Victoria University of Wellington.
As Pou Whakahaere, Hera leads the organisation’s Tiriti‑aligned strategy, strengthening relationships with internal kaimahi and building partnerships with Māori, Hapū, Iwi, and external stakeholders. She also guides the integration of Mātauranga Māori across the organisation and champions improved outcomes for Māori in stroke prevention and care.
