Emma's story

Emma Davy (WAKS montage)

My stroke was missed at the time it happened. Since I found out, it has been a roller coaster of scans, specialist appointments, medications, and surgery. I’ve had the realisation of just how lucky I am to not have the lingering effects of the stroke.

I have two children and they have had to learn to deal with a mum who is all over the place and constantly at appointments. The financial aspect of this has been immense. I am very lucky to have medical insurance, but the premiums are getting higher constantly with the tests that I’m having. It means time off work, inability to do things depending on what part of the journey I’m on.
