The National Mobility Fund
Empowering stroke survivors through mobility - find out more about the national mobility fund for survivors across Aotearoa.
Thanks to the generosity of the late Peter Morath who included a gift in his will for this purpose, Stroke Aotearoa New Zealand is proud to offer a National Mobility Fund, for stroke survivors across Aotearoa.
Regaining independence after a stroke can be life-changing. For many survivors, access to safe and reliable mobility is key to reconnecting with whānau, community, and everyday life. This fund offers an unprecedented opportunity to enhance freedom, wellbeing, and confidence.
In partnership with Independent Living
To ensure each applicant receives a personalised service, we have partnered with Independent Living Charitable Trust - experts in the assessment and selection of power chairs. This means every motorised wheelchair is matched to the unique needs and circumstances of the individual, providing both safety and comfort.
Who can apply
If you are a stroke survivor living in Aotearoa and believe a power chair could support your independence and daily life, you may be eligible. The grant covers the cost of the power chair, assessment, and delivery. Eligibility criteria apply.
